These snapshots were taken over a long weekend surrounding the new moon on April 25 2009, while on vacation in Arizona. The timing of the trip centered around a visit to Kitt Peak night sky program on a moonless night.
As it worked out, the desert cooperated and the southern desert gardens were in full bloom, providing me a pleasant photographic distraction. The "Flowering Desert" images have been moved into a single album for ease of viewing.
We headed south from Phoenix Thursday morning, in a bright red Pontiac G6 rental and returned it 800 miles later, just before flying home on Tuesday.
For those who care: Snapshots with a file names starting with "P4..." were taken by me with an Olympus SP-570UZ, 10mp camera with a 10X optical zoom.
Snapshots with a file names starting with "DSCN..." were taken by my wife using a Nikon Coolpix L3 pocket camera.
Images with more meaningful names have been cropped, edited, or otherwise enhanced in photoshop. They are most often cropped in postcard format for ease of printing. I will be adding them as I get around to editing them.
